Winneshiek County is served by Iowa Highway 9, an east-west two lane road that runs through Decorah and Ridgeway; by U.S. Highway 52 which runs through Decorah, Calmar, Ossian and Castalia; Iowa Highway 24 which runs through Jackson Junction, Fort Atkinson and Calmar; and by Iowa Highway 150, which runs through Festina and Calmar.
Highways 9 and U.S. 52 intersect in Decorah. Highway 24, Highway 150 and U.S. 52 intersect in Calmar.
All paved roads in Winneshiek County are two-lane roads.
The county is served by FedEx and Decorah is home to a regional UPS station.
The Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern (DM&E) Rail Line serves the southern portion of Winneshiek County, passing through the towns of Castalia, Ossian, Calmar, Fort Atkinson and Jackson Junction.
